Does that mean something similar to the Minecraft server that was previously hosted under the name "Users' Playground" or something much different?
oh man lots. i dont think we're going back to the minecraft server for a long time. we ended up getting a bunch of minecraft fans as opposed to yam fans who happen to also play minecraft, and it was expensive running a game server like that.
anyways, the forum was just a fun "easy" idea we got after seeing some other communities with forums (reject convenience's, agora road that rick tempest likes)
the idea with users playground as a whole was in a slightly more literal sense supposed to be a playground for users LAWL
so there is gonna be a much more substantial landing page on UsersPlayground.com (sans "/forum") that acts as a hub to get to the forum, get to some little web games, maybe some browser tools, and other silly things like code monkey. of course, as with anything yam related, and just like the main yam homepage well have some easter eggs and silly things
Running a Minecraft server can get pretty demanding and really take up a lot of your time, I can say from experience since I ran some different servers with my friend for a couple years. You open one thinking it'll be a side thing, or just a medium through which you can tell a story and maybe change the medium after a while but no! It really does become its own thing. xD
Also that's good to know :p I'll be looking forward to that then. So what does the skeleton in usersplayground.com mean then? Or is it part of the super duper secret YAM lore that seems to have been revealing itself slowly over time (or not, maybe I've just been connecting non existent dots this whole time lol) :-X
i think you hit the nail on the head for sure with the minecraft server lol thats exactly what we dealt with
and the skeleton was just a little scene Asaklair putt together for the landing page he built, nothing much more special than that (but there is audio on that page)
and there are definitely some dots to connect elsewhere... glad someones looking hehe
